Words to live by

I spend a lot of time trying to convince Weston that he can't always have what he wants. In fact, I say exactly that on a regular basis. As in, 'I'm sorry you can't have candy for dinner, but you can't always have what you want.' Or, 'It would be nice to go out and play right now but we have to clean up the mess we already made first. We can't always have what we want right when we want it.'

This morning, I was trying to wrap an Angel Tree gift to take to the chapel, and Weston was jumping up and down behind me, yanking on my shirt. I told him I wanted him to stop, and he said, 'You can't always have what you want when you want it, Mama.' So true, so true.

Classic case of what goes around comes around. Too funny.
